Summary data from the previous example

One-Sample Difference of Proportions

Population Proportion        0.10

Sample Proportion             0.15

Sample Size (n)               110

Test statistic                1.748

                         p < 0.0805  (2tailed)

Interpretation

For a 2-tailed test, the p-value represents the probability of making a type 1 error (concluding there is statistical significance when there is none).  Since there is about 8% chance of making a type 1 error, which exceeds the 5% error limit established in the rejection criteria of the hypothesis testing process (alpha), you would not conclude there is statistical significance.
